Friendly staff! Made sure we were fed every morning, proactively contacted us to make departure arrangements the night before we checked out.

Hard to find, especially for cab drivers.

Very cozy hotel. The place has a lot of history. The staff is very helpful. We bought an excellent excursion to the Chinese Wall. Good location. Everything was great.

What a beautiful place. I've lived in the Hutongs before, but this hotel is a particularly well preserved courtyard. Staff was super friendly and went out of their way to help me. I hope to come back here soon!

The hotel was an amazing surprise right at the heart of Beijing. In the middle of Hutongs, however in a very quiet street.The staff was amazing, very friendly and helped us in the middle of the night to load credit on our mobile (vital here)The rooms were big enough and very traditional, something you want when you visit China.We ate dinner in the last evening at the hotel, and the food was delicious.

Honestly, I cannot say anything bad, our 5 day stays was amazing.

One of the most unique hotel, it's more than 200 years old. I love the vivid color everywhere and the breakfast is exceptional.

Easy access to metro for site seeing excellent breakfast friendly helpful staff with good language skills and knowledge would definitely stay there again and in fact we have

I chose this hotel with the intention of providing my family with an authentic Beijing Hutong experience, and it certainly delivered just that. The rooms were true to the images presented, and the hotel itself boasted not one, but two charming terraces and courtyards. Evening drinks on the terrace offered unique views of this historically rich and residential neighborhood, a true testament to Beijing's traditional architectural heritage.The entire hotel staff deserves commendation, as their service was exceptional. They were always available to attend to our needs, displaying remarkable politeness and friendliness. Special mention goes to Henry, Fan, and Alace for their outstanding contributions to our delightful stay.

While some guests may find the beds a touch firm and the bathrooms showing signs of aging, it's important to note that this building boasts over 500 years of history. If your primary goal is to relish the historical and genuinely Chinese facets of your stay, these minor inconveniences are the price to pay.The breakfast room is a bit small, try to avoid peak hours in the early morning.

The environment is great. So “Chinese” and quiet. The beds are super comfortable. Loved the old style furnitures. And of course the staff are so friendly and professional!

The location of this perfect- right in Dongsi Hutong and close to the metro station. it has the atmosphere of old Beijing. the bed was comfortable. the staffs, Henry & Fan were very friendly & helpful, and help us to get to our next destination.

English speaking people in the reception. Very helpful with any questions we had. Genuine courtyard local hotel. Nice and clean room. Great location and very quiet area in the hutongs. Very close to tons of restaurants.

The staff made this such an incredible experience! They really went above and beyond, answering any and all questions I had about the city and getting accustomed to China. They really helped make me make the best use of my time in Beijing!

This wasn't a negative for me personally because I like to get a real experience of the locals, but the hotel is located in an alley in a residential area. Always felt very safe and enjoyed walking around the area!

Quiet location and relaxing courtyards to unwind. Filled with character and charm and providing a memorable first few nights in China for our family. The staff were all great and always helpful. Henry was wonderful and engaging. The rooms were clean. The location was close to all amenities.

Heritage, we felt immediately at home. Great location, wonderfully helpful and lovely staff. Great breakfast. Great courtyard to settle after a busy day. Very comfortable beds and fancy bathroom facilities!!!!

Very characteristic hotel, very amusing and cozy at the same time. The room as well as the bed were to the point. Breakfast was rich and good.The staff was super nice and available, especially a guy named Henry, speaking good English, who helped us in showing us the highlights of the cities and gave us support in general.

Old and worn down, thus impossible to keep clean. Room small and smelly. Definitely not worthy of its 4 stars. Changed to Hilton 50m2 luxury room for same price!

What to say except that this is an exceptionnal hotel ? Not just because of the nice room and architecutre, with the 200years old courtyard, but because of the staff. They weren't just helpfull. They were devoted to make your stay unforgettale. Their friendliness and patience made us feel like we were at home, with friends that wanted to make you discover their city and culture. They helped us with payment problems (as it is always a thing in China when you only have a Visa card), ticket booking issues (Wechat was difficult to use for us as it is not translated) and were interstes in what we've done in our stay, what gift we bought to our families. They even laughed at my very bad jokes ! Compares to the service of a French staff (i'm working in a 3 star hotel), it felt way more sincere and comforting. We'll never thank them enough for everything they did for us ! As our chinese was very poor, their very good english made us feel at ease to have chats with them ! I've been in Beijing 3 times in 3 different hotels. This one is by far the best i've been in.m and i'll never go anywhere else in ly future trips to Beijing. Thanks you again guys for everything. You're the best ! If you ever have to come to Paris, send us a message and we will welcome you with great pleasure !Take care !

Absolutely amazing staff! Thank you to everyone there for your kindness, consideration and advice. The room was beautifully furnished and the entire location has an authentic feel with many photo-ready spots.

I enjoyed my stay mostly because of the hospitality and kindess of the staff (Henry and Alice). I would highly recommend visiting this place for people who are visiting China for the first time because they are very professional in guiding tourists around. Because of the great decoration the hotel feels like a little Chinese museum!
